The tent arrived from Altitude Sports even a little quicker than expected, and the free shipping was much appreciated.

We just got the tent in mid July and had it set up once in the yard to try it out, then took it out for a 5 night camping trip in eastern Canada. During the trip it rained for at least part of 4 of those days. Mostly light rain, but a couple heavy down-pours in thunder showers. It held up well, with no leaks other than a couple small drips through the tie-down loops above the main door while we had the awning set up during a down-pour. We had a bit of wind reaching about 35km/hr for a short duration and the tent held up well.

Set up was reasonably straight forward for someone who is familiar with setting up various types of tents (good thing because the instructions on the bag were not straight forward!); although it required quite a bit of tinkering to get the fly lined up just right and eliminate spots where water might pool. I had no trouble setting it up myself, although it is helpful to have someone assist with raising the poles.

I liked the standing headroom in the main part of the tent, and the ample living space. It was plenty large for us with sleeping bags and pads, and small clothes bags, with enough room for standing up to get changed and move around, avoid touching the walls during rain, and get in and out ok. The large main door, second side door, the many storage pockets, and the awning were all nice touches.

I really like the light-weight strong aluminum poles; and the tent packs up reasonably small and light for the size of it - fitting remarkably well into the provided stuff sack.

As mentioned, we really like our new tent, but there are a few reasons for 3 stars instead of 5. Mostly related to perceived quality and value for money. At about $800 regular price, this is not a cheap tent. Some aspects did not meet my expectations at first glance. The thread along some of the seams was frayed; there was a small bit of material torn on the outside of the rain fly seam at one spot (about 2" long). With regards to design, the fly could not be set up in such a way to prevent it from resting against the tent wall in the lower part of the side 'addition' (Having a couple peg-out points along the base of the fly could probably solve this.). The floor seam runs along the bottom edge of the floor, so I worry that over time it may begin to leak - especially on the side 'addition' where the rain fly leaves rain to flow down against the lower few inches of tent wall. The guy lines and zippers felt a little on the light side. The complex design makes it tricky to get a good taught rain fly set up in places - there are a few tricky edges and spots on top where rain might pool a little behind a pole bend, or at least slow down before running off (With a lot of care, most of these can be eliminated, however.). The pegs that came with it are quite short and small; and our tent came with about 5 pegs short of a complete set-up with all guy lines.

As proper set up and tensioning relies on having it well staked and guyed, I recommend using some larger tent pegs with good holding power if you expect rain and/or wind.

Overall, we really like this tent and look forward to getting it out again for more camping trips, but I hope that it will hold up well and stand the test of time and frequent use. Lire moinsRead less about Overall, my family (2 adults and 3
